the comfy design of the hotel was nice and gave good vibes for chillin. the atmosphere inside was cool, and the staff seemed friendly when i got in touch with them. although i didn't get to stay, the hotel looked pleasant from the outside and the idea of a separate bar area seemed like a good idea for a fun night out.
unfortunately, the hotel was closed when i arrived which was super frustrating, and i couldn't reach anyone to find out what was up.

Had a fab stay at The Boar! The room was fantastic with great tea facilities, and the bar had a lovely atmosphere. Just a slight bummer about the breakfast being underwhelming, but there’s a cute cafe nearby that hit the spot!

The comfortable and cozy interior of the Double Room with Private Bathroom gave a welcoming vibe, and despite some hiccups, the stunning aesthetics make for a pleasant stay.
The windows being old and single-glazed let in a lot of noise from the busy road, making sleep a challenge. The absence of basic amenities like a dressing table and adequate lighting made it tough for prepping in the mornings. The lack of breakfast options was disappointing, especially with a restaurant on-site—didn't make much sense. Finally, check-out being at 10:30 AM felt too rushed and added to the overall off-putting experience.

The vibrant outdoor atmosphere made for a delightful dining experience, and the generous portion sizes at the restaurant were a great bonus.
While the room was cozy and well-designed, the bathroom could use a thorough deep cleaning to improve the overall hygiene.

The noise from the pub creates an unrelaxed atmosphere!!! The lack of a dressing table is frustrating!!! The windows offer little insulation from road noise!!! A later check-out would have been appreciated!!!

Cozy vibes and tasty food
I had a charming time with my double room. The atmosphere was perfect for unwinding, and the in-room breakfast was a nice treat! Loved the attentive staff who made everything easy. The only thing was that the restaurant got a bit chilly later on, but I just put on a jacket. Totally recommend this spot for a relaxing getaway!

Just an optimal selection for spending the night in Theydon Bois with great value. I loved the beautiful tea facilities in the room, making my stay more enjoyable. Try to arrive with time for check-in as doors might be locked outside of the designated times.

Dining options were a highlight, with delicious meals featuring freshly caught fish that truly impressed. The cozy atmosphere made it easy to relax, especially with attentive staff enhancing the experience. some room details felt lacking—such as limited space, which may not suit everyone, and the noise from outside could be intrusive at times. the setup for breakfast was a bit cramped, making it less enjoyable than it could be.
